I don’t know about you, but I’ve been so excited spring has arrived. I was so over winter. Mother Nature teased us for weeks with beautiful weather. One day it would be sunny with springtime temperatures and then the next day it would be so cold, gloomy, and rainy. It seemed like the rain would never end and worst of all, the horrid weather (mainly rain) would take place on the weekends.
We are all ready to go outside and attend some fun events. I’m sure I’m not the only one that felt a bit stir-crazy and restless during winter so I thought it would be fun to share some Spring activities and family events that will take place in Smyrna and Marietta. Below are just a few events and activities that will take place in the next few days and weeks.
29th Annual Cobb Eggstravaganza
This Easter egg hunt is hosted by the Marietta Parks, Recreation, and Facilities and will take place on Saturday, April 9th, 2022. The event will be located at the Al Bishop Softball Complex in Marietta.
The fields will have thousands of eggs for children and there will be three separate egg hunts for specific age groups. The first egg hunt (for 3 years old and younger) is scheduled to take place at 1:00 PM. Concessions stands and the gates will open for games, inflatables, and music. It is recommended that kids come dressed in their cutest Easter gear because the Easter Bunny has been known to make an appearance at this event.
Smyrna Easter Egg Hunt
This event will take place on April 9th, 2022 at Tolleson Park. Families can enjoy crafts, family games, music, and more. It has been advised to pre-register for the event. There will be multiple time slots for the different age groups. It is going to be an EGG-citing event!
Jonquil City Jog 
The Smyrna Jonquil City Jog will take place on April 30th, 2022, from 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM at City Hall. The Jonquil City Jog features a 5K, 1K, and a Tot Trot. Participants can pick up numbers and register from 6:45 AM until the start of each race. The 5K Race starts at 8:00 AM, the 1K race starts at 9:00 AM and the Tot Trot starts at 9:15 AM. First-place winners will receive Kenny’s Key Lime pies. Participants will also receive commemorative t-shirts while supplies last.

Spring Jonquil Festival
The Smyrna Spring Jonquil Festival is a two-day event and will start on Saturday, April 23rd, 2022, from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, and will continue the next day from 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM. The festival will feature over 150 Arts & Crafts booths, 12 food booths, an entertainment stage, and a variety of children’s activities. The Jonquils will be in bloom in the midst of springtime in Smyrna. Bring the family and shop, play, eat, drink and just have a great day together.
Marietta Square Farmers Market
The Marietta Square Farmers Market takes place every Saturday from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM (year-round). The market features vendors that sell vegetables, fruits, locally sourced meats, treats, home goods, and even plants and flowers from around Atlanta. The location of the market is perfect and you can also shop at many of the nearby shops.
