America’s 250th birthday is making this year’s Fourth of July celebrations even bigger than usual. Whether you’re looking for fireworks, parades, concerts, festivals, or family-friendly activities, metro Atlanta has plenty of ways to celebrate Independence Day. Whatever you do this year, we hope you have a safe and Happy 4th!

Stone Mountain’s Fantastic Fourth Celebration

July 1-6
Stone Mountain Park

Voted the “Best Place to see Fireworks in Atlanta” by Atlanta Journal-Constitution readers, a “Must-See Fireworks Show” by USA Today, and one of Reader’s Digest’s picks for “America’s Most Spectacular Fourth of July Fireworks.”

Drone & Light Show + Fireworks | 9:30 PM

Space is limited; early entry by 5 PM is highly recommended during the Fantastic Fourth Celebration.

Enjoy a day full of adventure with great family attractions, live entertainment during Summer at the Rock, hike the one-mile trail to the top of Stone Mountain for some amazing views of downtown Atlanta, explore the miles of wooded trails throughout the park and relax in nature, then stay into the evening to experience the NEW 250th Celebration Drone & Light Show* followed by the EXACT SAME patriotic fireworks finale each night of the celebration!

Please note:

  • Enter the park before 5 PM! We recommend getting to the park before 5 PM, especially on July 4!
  • Gates will close to traffic! Please be aware that the park will close gates to traffic once parking capacity is reached, regardless of pre-purchased ticket.
  • Leave pets at home. Pets are not allowed in ticketed areas or at the Drone & Light Show. Do not leave them in a car.
  • No re-entry. Guests who leave the park on July 4 and then wish to return will have to re-pay the park entry fee.
  • Mountain Memberships are not valid on July 4. All other dates during the Fantastic Fourth Celebration are included with your membership, plus you can bring a friend for free.
  • SkyHike will be subject to a $5 add-on ticket on July 4 & July 5 due to limited capacity. Tickets can be purchased at the ticket windows at the park.

Northside Hospital Peachtree Road Race

Lenox Square to Piedmont Park

The 57th Running of the Northside Hospital Peachtree Road Race will continue the iconic Fourth of July tradition, bringing more than 60,000 runners and walkers to the streets of Atlanta for the world’s largest 10K.

The race begins at Lenox Square and finishes in Piedmont Park, taking participants through the heart of the city.

This year is a historic moment. As the United States celebrates its 250th anniversary and Atlanta prepares to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup, demand is expected to be high. Register early to secure your spot!
