Fireworks, flags, music, food, swimming, and time with your family and friends. What’s not to love about the 4th of July?! The Atlanta area has so much to offer when it comes to celebrating America’s birthday. Atlanta Mom has put together a list of some events happening in and around Atlanta for your family to enjoy. Whatever you do this year, we hope you have a safe and Happy 4th!

Stone Mountain’s Fantastic Fourth Celebration

July 1-7
Stone Mountain Park

Enjoy a day full of adventure with great family attractions, live entertainment during Summer at the Rock, hike the one-mile trail to the top of Stone Mountain for some amazing views of downtown Atlanta, explore the miles of wooded trails throughout the park and relax in nature, then stay into the evening to experience the NEW Music Across America Light Show* presented by the Georgia Office of Highway Safety followed by the EXACT SAME patriotic fireworks finale each night of the celebration!

Access to the Light Show and fireworks is included with an Attractions Ticket or Light Show only ticket. Access to park attractions and seasonal live entertainment is included with an Attractions Ticket. Space is limited, early entry is highly recommended during the Fantastic Fourth Celebration

*Please note that there will be no free Park re-entry allowed. Guests who leave the Park on July 4 and then wish to return will have to re-pay the Park entry fee. Please also be aware that the Park may close gates to traffic once parking capacity is reached.

Six Flags Over Georgia

After a day of thrilling summer fun join us for a spectacular fireworks finale. Watch as fireworks light up the night sky, glowing over Six Flags Over Georgia’s most spectacular roller coasters.

  • Best View: Near SUPERMAN: Ultimate Flight and JUSTICE LEAGUE Battle for Metropolis

The fireworks can be seen from almost any place in the park, but head to Metropolis for the best view!


Independence Week Celebration

July 1-5
Your 3rd Spot

Whether looking for unique culinary treats or shared experiences, Your 3rd Spot offers something for everyone to enjoy. From July 1-5, guests also can enjoy a variety of special events and extended hours and on the 4th, Your 3rd Spot is providing a unique, weatherproof fireworks display on its projectors.

  • Monday, July 1: Industry Independence Day boasts $4 entry, $4 bowling games and $4 sliders for all hospitality workers. Free entry and goody bag for all Ride-share drivers.
  • Tuesday, July 2: July Date Night brings 2-for-1 experiences, bowling and Taste & Explore packages with reservations.
  • Wednesday, July 3: Extended hours from 3 p.m.-midnight with the venue becoming 21+ after 6 p.m.
  • Thursday, July 4: Open from 2-10:30 p.m., with 21+ admission after 8 p.m. Specialty swag, frozen delights and live performances. Guests will enjoy a modified Taste & Explore menu featuring smoked barbecue ribs, wagyu beef sliders and more, plus a July 4th cocktail tree with sparklers.
  • Friday, July 5: Open from 2 p.m.-1 a.m., 21+ after 6 p.m.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race

July 4
Lenox Square to Piedmont Park

Unfortunately, registration for the race itself is closed, but there is still plenty of celebratory fun to be had.

If you were lucky enough to register for the 60,000+ person race, you may want to check out this unofficial guide to race. If you aren’t running or walking in this year’s race, you can join the more than 150,000 spectators to cheer on your racer along the Peachtree Road racecourse, then meet them in Piedmont Park to celebrate their completion.


Atlanta Braves vs. San Francisco Giants

July 4
Truist Park

Celebrate America’s birthday with America’s favorite pastime. Take in the game at Truist Park and cheer on the Braves as they take on the Giants!


4th on the Field

July 4
Coolray Field

4th on the Field at Coolray Field is going to be a fun event for the whole family! We will have live music, inflatables, a beer garden, a movie on the big screen in center field, face painting, tie dye for the kids, and of course fireworks. Concessions will also be available. Come out, bring your blankets, and get ready for some Fourth of July family fun!
