Oh Christmas Tree! Oh Christmas Tree! Atlanta has so many Christmas Trees! What better way to kickoff the Christmas season than to go check out some lightings of Christmas Trees. We have created a list for you of some of the best lighting around town.

Atlanta Holiday Tree Lightings

The Lighting of Avalon

November 21st, 1 pm to 8 pm

A celebration for the season you won’t want to miss! Get in the holiday spirit with festive music and free activities for the whole family. From the annual opening of Avalon on Ice to the magnificent tree lighting, and an appearance from Jolly Old Saint Nick himself, there’s something exciting for all to enjoy.

Lilburn Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting

December 4th, 4 pm to 7 pm
Lilburn City Park

The parade starts at 4 p.m. and travels down Main Street ending at the corner of Main St. and Railroad Ave. After the parade join us in Lilburn City Park for the countdown of the “Tree Lighting”. Activities in the park will include musical performances at the bandshell, free train rides, Santa selfies, kids’ crafts, sweet treats, and more.

Vinings Jubilee Christmas Tree Lighting!

December 2nd, 6 pm to 8 pm
Vinings Jubilee

Grab your Santa hats and sweaters and ring in the holiday season at Vinings Jubilee’s beloved annual event. Perfect for the whole family, festivities include 1940’s style carolers, train rides, ornament decorating, a jazz band performance, face painting, and of course, photos with the big man himself – Santa Claus!

Macy’s Magical Light Celebration

November 19th – Jan 1st
Lenox Square Mall

Returning to Macy’s Lenox Square for the 74th consecutive holiday season, the Atlanta Great Tree is an eco-friendly, reusable tree that stands 56 feet tall & is adorned with 45,00 multicolor sparkling LED lights that span more than eight miles from end to end. Also returning for its final season is Priscilla the Pink Pig. Fun for the whole family, this ride is an Atlanta favorite.

Decatur Tree Lighting

December 2nd, 7pm
Decatur Plaza

Join the Decatur neighbors on the plaza for this Decatur tradition. Enjoy holiday carols, hot cocoa and “snow.” At 7 p.m. sharp, Santa himself flips the switch to light the tree above the east entrance of the Decatur MARTA station (Church Street side). The event is free, family-friendly, and sponsored by Little Shop of Stories.

Alpharetta Tree Lighting

December 2nd, 7pm
Alpharetta Town Green

Check out all of the holiday event in Downtown Alpharetta starting with the lighting of tree on the Town Green. Head over to North Main Street Park for Selfies & Singalongs with Santa.

Magical Marietta Tree Lighting

December 2nd, 6pm
Marietta Square

The City of Marietta’s Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration returns this holiday season! The fun begins with performances by local school and church choirs. Then, Santa will make his Grand Entrance to help the Mayor and the City of Marietta light the Christmas tree! Events start at 4pm and the tree lighting is at 6pm.

Jessica is an adventure-loving, over-committing, and previously organized mother of 2! She and her husband (high school sweethearts) moved to Atlanta in 2006 after graduating college, ready to start their life in the “real world”. They have experienced so many wonderful life milestones while in Atlanta – lived in Buckhead pre-kids, bought a house in great Smyrna neighborhood, had their first child in 2011 (a spunky little girl, Vivian), welcomed their second child exactly 18 months later in 2012 (a creative and crazy little boy, Harrison), and most recently added a Golden Doodle named Winston into the mix. Jessica and her family have since moved to the burbs of Milton where you now find them past 2 horse farms on the right. Jessica has always loved being part of a community, so when the opportunity to join the Atlanta Mom executive team presented itself it was a no brainer! She loved it so much, in fact, that in 2021 she and Natalie joined forces to lead the team and continue connecting with awesome moms across the ATL!
