Thanksgiving is on its way! And while getting sat at the kids’ table sometimes gets a bad wrap, there are ways to jazz it up to make it so that kids WANT to sit there for Thanksgiving this year.

Here are some tips to help you set up a memorable and fun kids’ table experience:
Colorful Decorations:
Instead of a traditional tablecloth, use butcher paper or drawing paper that kids can doodle on or write words of gratitude or what they are thankful for. To make things even easier, they now make themed paper tablecloth covers that are made for coloring. Add colorful napkins, plates, and cups, and use kid-friendly centerpieces like small pumpkins or gourds.
Provide art supplies:
Set out crayons, markers, and other art supplies in jars. A fun way to display the art supplies is to make this mason jar turkey craft.

Fun Place Settings:
Personalize each setting with name cards that kids can decorate. Have kids make their placemats or use printable ones like these here.
Interactive Elements:
Set out an activity sheet with puzzles, brain teasers, or questions for kids to do under their plates. You can also set up a small craft station with supplies for making Thanksgiving-themed art. Have some games to play like this game of “pin the feather on the turkey” or Thanksgiving Bingo. Try giving the kids Play-Doh and challenge them to recreate Thanksgiving dinner.
Set out fun food:

Entertainment Options:
Consider playing light music or having a fun movie in the background. Make it even more fun with a photo booth setup where the kids can take silly pictures.

Hopefully, with these tips, you’ll create a fantastic kids’ table that everyone will enjoy.
