Summer 2026 Family-Friendly Movies

We’re halfway through the year, school is out for summer, and summer is in full swing! While most families will no doubt take their children to the pool, beach, lake, or even partake in other outdoor activities and adventures, there will probably be days when families may have to stay indoors. My family has already had a few days where we had to stay indoors due to all the rain we’ve been getting, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t found ways to stay entertained. One of my favorite things to do over the summer is watch movies.

Whether it’s watching/streaming a movie at home or going to the movie theater, a few family-friendly movie releases are coming out this summer. Be sure to grab some popcorn and check them out!

Toy Story 5

Toy Story 5 follows immediately after the events of Toy Story 4. After Woody left Bonnie to help abandoned toys find new owners, Jessie became the leader, and Buzz is now the second-in-command. The dilemma: Woody and the crew find their jobs at risk when Bonnie becomes fascinated by electronics. Honestly, I think this film will be a great teaching moment as it appears to take on today’s issues of screen time and electronics.
