Journaling in the New Year

Journaling in the New YearA new year calls for a focus on fresh starts, reflection, and goal setting. It’s common to set a New Year’s resolution each year. However, choosing and sticking to a resolution can be challenging. One way to help stay on target is to write things down. For me, I’m most organized and accomplished when I write things down. Whether it’s a to-do list or a grocery list, I’m able to stay on task by writing things down.

To keep with the theme of writing things down, one thing to carry into the new year is to keep a daily journal. I love the idea of getting my thoughts, ideas, and aspirations out of my head on paper. Journaling helps to process thoughts, release pent-up emotions, and act as a tool for personal growth. Rather than have a daily word dump or random thoughts on a sticky note, it would be better to create a more refined way to capture what’s in my head.

Getting started doesn’t have to be hard. When you have prompts, you can think and write.

Here are ten prompts to get started journaling in January.
