We’re in the thick of winter. One of my favorite things about winter is the drinks I consume during this time of year. I love hot drinks, but I will still drink a cold beverage. Hot drinks often remind me of cozy and are such a comfort to me, while cold beverages during winter make me dream of spring and warmer weather.

I’ve found some hot and cold drinks, as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic winter drinks, that I thought I’d share with you all.

Frothy Golden Milk Latte

I recently learned about golden milk and had to try it. This is a really simple recipe, and you can make it iced or hot (I prefer hot). I love that the ingredients are all things that most people already have at home. You need milk, honey (or maple syrup), vanilla extract, and seasonings like ground turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, and fine sea salt.

Irish Coffee

Ah, a classic. With only four key ingredients, this is one of the simplest recipes to make. All you need is strong, hot coffee, brown sugar, Irish whiskey (or you can opt for Bailey’s Irish Cream), and whipped cream.

Winter Paloma

This winter-inspired version of the Paloma is an interesting mix of grapefruit and lime juices, soda water, and mezcal. This drink reminds me of winter and warmer weather.

Winter Margarita

If you love margaritas, you’ll love this winter-inspired one. It combines the best winter fruits with tequila and orange liqueur. The mix of cranberry, pomegranate, and lime juices is perfection. Add some salt to the rim for the classic finishing touch.

Hot Toddy

Ah, a hot toddy—a classic winter drink. It’s easy to make: You only need hot water, whiskey, honey, and lemon. However, you have to play around with the measurements of honey and lemon until you like the taste.

Winter Cranberry Spritz

If you like simple drinks and cranberries, you’ll love this drink. To make it, you’ll need rosemary simple syrup, cranberry juice, soda water, and ice. For garnish, you can add rosemary sprigs and cranberries. To make it into a cocktail, simply add your favorite liquor.

London Fog

A London Fog screams cozy. This easy tea drink calls for milk, water, Earl Grey tea, and vanilla extract. If you prefer an iced London Fog, check out this recipe.

Sparkling Cranberry Apple Cider

I’ve been on a cranberry kick this winter and was pleasantly surprised to find a drink that combines cranberry and apple cider. To make this drink, you need cranberries, lemon juice, honey, apple cider, cranberry juice, and sparkling water. The recipe recommends using fresh cranberries. If you want to make this into a cocktail instead of a cocktail, simply add some prosecco to the mix.

Hot Toddy Mocktail

If you enjoy hot toddies but prefer to try a nonalcoholic recipe, then you’re in luck. This recipe calls for black tea, honey, lemon juice, ground cinnamon, star anise, ground nutmeg, lemon wedges, and cinnamon sticks. Honestly, when I think of this recipe, it just reminds me of tea.

French Hot Chocolate

You can’t forget the ultimate winter drink: hot chocolate! This recipe only has two ingredients: milk and dark chocolate. The key to making this hot chocolate is using good-quality chocolate. However, I love to add whipped cream and sometimes cinnamon sugar or chocolate curls. If you don’t drink cow’s milk, you can opt to use a milk alternative.
