Looking to get lost in the pages of a great summer read, but don’t know where to start? Whether you’re headed to the beach or just lounging in your backyard, these authors deliver the perfect mix of romance, drama, and escapism.

Here are six go-to authors and the top books I recommend from each to add to your TBR list this season.

ELIN HILDERBRAND

Starting with Elin Hilderbrand, who is frequently referred to as the “Queen of Beach Reads.” Elin Hilderbrand never fails to deliver compelling characters, juicy drama, and the ultimate mental escape to Nantucket. After reading 9 of her 30 novels and short stories published, here are the top 3 I would recommend you dive into this summer:

    1. 28 Summers
    2. The Perfect Couple
    3. The Five-Star Weekend

KRISTY WOODSON HARVEY

If you’re in the mood for Southern charm, look no further than the beloved Kristy Woodson Harvey. A North Carolina native, her stories are full of heartfelt moments, witty dialogue, and even a touch of history, all set against the warm backdrop of the Lowcountry. I am looking forward to diving into her latest release, “Beach House Rules“, but I’d recommend starting with these three:

    1. A Happier Life
    2. The Wedding Veil
    3. The Peachtree Bluff Series

EMILY HENRY

Emily Henry has cultivated a loyal fan base, and for good reason. Her novels combine sharp humor, emotional depth, and swoon-worthy romance. Based on Goodreads ratings and personal favorites, here are the top three to check out:

    1. Funny Story
    2. Book Lovers
    3. Great Big Beautiful Life

TAYLOR JENKINS REID

Craving a little historical fiction with substance, style, and beautiful writing? Taylor Jenkins Reid’s books are rich with flawed, unforgettable characters and page-turning plots. Her newest novel, “Atmosphere”, tells the story of the first woman accepted into NASA’s Space Shuttle training program – one to add to your list. I recommend starting with these three:

    1. Malibu Rising
    2. Daisy Jones and The Six
    3. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo

CARLEY FORTUNE

When thinking of Carley Fortune and her 4 bestselling novels, think nostalgia, love, and a dreamy setting. She recently released her latest novel, “One Golden Summer,” which is at the top of my TBR list. Since she has only released 4 books, I’ll share the other 3 you should read this summer:

    1. Every Summer After
    2. Meet Me At The Lake
    3. This Summer Will Be Different

Bonus: the book covers are gorgeous enough to double as summer decor.

ABBY JIMENEZ

If you’re a fan of witty banter, irresistible rom-coms, and stories that strike the perfect balance between laughter and heart, Abby Jimenez is a must-read. Her latest novel, “Say You’ll Remember Me”, is one I’m looking forward to binge-reading this summer. To start, I recommend these fan-favorites:

    1. Part Of Your World
    2. Yours Truly
    3. Just For The Summer
