Spring is in full swing across the Atlanta metro area, bringing a packed calendar of festivals, outdoor fun, and family-friendly celebrations. From egg hunts to art festivals, here’s your go-to guide for the best happenings this month.

April Family Friendly Events In and Around Atlanta

Now – April 12Town Center at Cobb Carnival. Enjoy your favorite carnival rides, games, and food! Unlimited ride wristbands are on-site or online for a fee. Event admission, parking, and live entertainment are free.

April 3-5Panda Fest, Atlantic Station. Panda Fest is one of the biggest outdoor Asian food festivals in the US with experiential activities, tastings, and market fairs that showcase the vibrant food, art, and cultural traditions from Asia.

April 3 Art Walk, Marietta Square, 5-9 pm. Experience the local art scene and dine at the restaurant you have been wanting to try. Good for a date night or a way to casually introduce your kids to local art and artists.

April 4404 Day at the Children’s Museum of Atlanta. 404 Day is a celebration of all things Atlanta at the Museum!

April 4Hop-A-Long Easter Egg Hunt, Avalon, 8:30 am. The hunt is on! Bring your little bunnies down to Avalon for Easter Fun! Children will collect five eggs and bring them to the trade-in tent to receive a bag of treats. No registration is required.

April 7-12The Sound of Music, Fox Theatre. With its timeless story and irresistibly charming score, this Rodgers & Hammerstein classic isn’t just meant to be enjoyed – it’s meant to be shared. Now, a critically acclaimed North American tour brings the cherished musical to stages across the country to teach a new generation to sing.

April 7 – May 17The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales, The Center for Puppetry Arts. Come see the world premiere of the Center’s adaptation of this bestselling fan favorite! Delight in the strange twists and the hilarious retellings that poke loving fun at classic folktales.

April 10 Evening Sky Watch at the Tellus Observatory, 8-11 pm. Come visit our Observatory for a rare look through our telescope, where we will be showing some of our favorite celestial objects in the evening sky. Suitable for all ages, advanced registration required.

April 10, 24Bats and Bits at Truist Park, 3-7 pm. Come experience Truist Park’s newest food selections while watching batting practice from the outfield! Bats & Bites gives you early access to the ballpark with a guided tour of Truist Park, which ends in the Outfield Market. Here, you’ll get to meet and interact with a former Braves player and sample new featured food and a signature beer or cocktail.

April 10-12Atlanta Dogwood Festival, Piedmont Park. The Atlanta Dogwood Festival is back! Hundreds of artists from around the country will once again set up their tents for the 90th Annual Atlanta Dogwood Festival, the city’s favorite springtime tradition.

April 11-12Spring Festival on Ponce, Olmsted Park. The Festival on Ponce is an Atlanta arts and crafts festival set in the historic park, Olmsted Linear Park. Visitors will enjoy the gorgeous landscape designed by one of America’s most celebrated landscape architects, Fredrick Olmsted Sr. along with over 125 displays of fine arts and crafts, folk, and “outsider art”. In addition to the fine arts, there will be a children’s area and local food and beverages. Attendance is Free.

April 11-12 Monster Jam, Echo Park Speedway. Monster Jam is adrenaline-charged family entertainment featuring the most famous trucks in the world.

April 11 – May 31The Georgia Renaissance Festival, Fairburn, Saturdays and Sundays, 10:30 am-6 pm. Go back to 16th-century England and experience jousting, acrobatics, comedy, medieval music, birds of prey, storytelling, an artisan market, tests of strength, camel rides, juggling school, macaroni and cheese on a stick – what are you waiting for?!

April 12UPS Second Sunday, High Museum of Art, 12-5 pm. FREE admission for all visitors.

April 16, 23Community Music Performance at the Battery Atlanta, 6-8:30 pm. Get ready to once again celebrate local jazz talent with inspiring performances from middle school and high school ensembles throughout the season. Each event offers a relaxed, family-friendly way to enjoy live music while supporting young musicians in our community.

April 18-19Big Shanty Festival, Downtown Kennesaw. With over 150 Arts & Crafts vendors, food, live entertainment, children’s activities & a beer garden, Main Street comes alive with something for the whole family!

April 22-26Lemonade Days, Dunwoody. From 20+ midway rides to our fabulous food court and beer garden, plus the weekend’s pony rides and petting zoo, don’t miss out on all of the family fun!

April 23 – May 3Atlanta Film Festival. Now in its fourth decade, the Atlanta Film Festival (ATLFF)—one of only two dozen Academy Award® qualifying festivals in the U.S.—is the area’s preeminent celebration of cinema. ATLFF screenings often include in-person dialogue with filmmakers, providing audiences, artists, and industry professionals with meaningful opportunities to network, interact, and engage.

April 24 – May 3Georgia State Fair, Echo Park Speedway, Hampton. Exciting Attractions & Shows. All Your Favorite Fair Food. Spectacular Carnival Rides & Kiddie Rides. Safe, Clean Family Fun!

April 25Run Like Wild 5K, Zoo Atlanta, 8 am. Run, walk, or trot through Zoo Atlanta at the sixth-annual Run Like Wild 5K!

April 26 Taste of Marietta, Marietta Square, 11 am-7 pm. Experience a variety of restaurants while you explore historic downtown Marietta Square. Admission to the festival is FREE. Food prices range from $2.00 to $10.00, and some activities in the Kids Alley have a fee. Kids Alley will include games, arts and crafts, and more.
