Overnight Escapes

Camping/Glamping– What could be better than soaking up the beauty and serenity of the great outdoors? Explore some of my favorite camping grounds such as Amicalola State Park, Vogel State Park, Unicoi State Park, Red Top Mountain State Park. Check out our Georgia State Park map checklist for a full list of state parks with links for information you may need before hitting the trail.

If you’re more like me and prefer something a bit more lavish check out some Glamping options like Timberline Glamping at Lake Lanier. There are many other Glamping offerings on sites like Air BnB.

The Inn at Serenbe Just about fifty minutes from Atlanta, you could also make this a day trip if you don’t wish to stay on property. Serenbe is home to 1,000 acres of forestland, wildflower meadows, and 15 miles of trail that winds around two waterfalls.

Callaway Gardens Just about an hour and forty-minute drive from Atlanta you can experience lovely gardens from the lodge, a villa, or even a cabin depending on your budget and ideal. Here you can enjoy the dining, beach activities, zip-lining, the butterfly house, and 2,500 acres of nature, gardens, and biking trails.

Rent a Cabin in the Mountains– We are lucky to live at the foot of some of the most beautiful mountains. Take a little trip up north for a rustic mountain escape to some of our favorite little mountain towns such as Helen, Dahlonega, or Blue Ridge. You could even just plan a day trip!

Take in CityScape Views– While I love the serenity of the mountains and gardens, I also enjoy being able to tap into my inner-city girl. I love the excitement and the bustle of city life. You can plan a day trip or maybe plan a stay overnight! There is so much to do and explore in Atlanta. You can either visit one of the nicer hotel options such as St. Regis, Georgian Terrace, Westin Peachtree Plaza or you could also seek out one of Atlanta’s many interesting Air BnB options. Enjoy easy access to the Beltline and all it has to offer in this lovely Modern Mini House. A little more north from the city, take in nature when you rent out a Treehouse in Smyrna!

Day Adventures

Day adventures are a great way to enjoy our city without paying the cost of room and board and there is so much to do and see around the Atlanta area.

A super fun activity to do in the heart of the city is the Balloon Museum. It is so much fun making your way through, and interacting with, very creative and artsy balloon displays. The exhibit is located at Pullman Yards, which is an amazing place to visit on its own.

If you are north of the city and want a fun family activity, head to Avalon and visit Immersive Gamebox. This is not like anything you have every done before. It is fun for an adult’s night out or a family fun day.

There are so many day adventures in and around Atlanta. These are some of our favorites:
