Check out these awesome local small businesses to cover all your gifting (and self-gifting!) needs this holiday season and all year long.

Beehive

This Edgewood boutique is a mecca of small businesses. It not only supports its lovely sister duo owners but also the collective of small craft designers who sell wares in their shops. You’ll surely find the perfect gifts for your girlfriends, in-laws, co-workers, babies, and teachers. The store has a wide range of handcrafted jewelry, epicurean delights, self-care supplies, and Atlanta-themed art.

Maelu

Maelu is a beautifully designed ethical women’s apparel line owned and designed by Atlanta mom, Meghna Dave. All of the beautiful fabrics are handmade in India using traditional artisan techniques and natural fibers and vegetable dyes. The results are stunning collections of dresses and matching sets for effortless and chic looks. Meghna opened a sweet little shop last year in Grant Park that also features jewelry and small gifts, and even hosts local community craft workshops- sounds like the perfect friends’ night out!

Happy Mango

Find the perfect gift for little ones and expecting parents in your life, or the family gear and essentials you need at Happy Mango. This fully online store is owned by another Atlanta mom, Phnewfula Frederiksen, and is serious about personalized customer experiences. You can schedule virtual or in-person shopping experiences to find the perfect solution for any of your baby and kiddo needs. They are truly experts in all things baby gear and the cutest Atlanta-themed gifts. Their team will have you covered whether you need expert support on the installation of your car seat or a lemon pepper wing candle for your next white elephant gift.

Chai Box

An Oprah-endorsed, Marietta mom-owned business. What more can you ask for from a small business? Chai Box offers a variety of artisanal, crafted, and delicious teas. You can shop the full catalog of their gift sets online or pick them up from their Marietta shop or nearby farmer’s market around town, where you’ll likely be purchasing from someone in their family. Their Chai concentrate is a staple in my house and daily fuels my toddler’s chasing.

Richard’s Variety Store

When you need that last-minute host, Secret Santa, or stocking stuffer gift- look no further than Richard’s Variety Store. With two convenient in-town locations in Midtown and Buckhead, you’ll be sure to fill all of your miscellaneous gifting needs and be in and out quickly. The name says it all as you’ll find a variety of hilarious greeting cards, kids’ and adult books, games, seasonal decor, and toys from babies to teens on these jam-packed shelves. Warning: leave your kids at home to avoid walking away with another impulse buy!

Go Play Kids Shoes

Go Play Shoes is owned and operated by two families who have lived, worked, and played in Kirkwood for nearly two decades. Shoes can literally change our bone structure, for better or for worse. This is especially true for children. Give them shoes that were designed with input from pediatric orthopedic doctors. We work with brands that believe process matters.  They design and produce with the future of our children’s planet in mind and provide fair labor for those who make those shoes.
