The clocks have been pushed forward and we now have more daylight and it’s starting to feel like spring! Flowers will start to bloom and planting season is about to be upon us!

Spring is my favorite time of year not only because of the warmer temps and sun but the plants, especially flowers. Be sure that you make it to one of these botanical gardens around Atlanta this spring and summer to check out the flowers of the season.

In the meantime, here are a few simple flower craft ideas to celebrate spring!

Spring Flower VaseSimple Flower Craft Ideas for Spring

This doubles as a fun scavenger hunt activity. Take a piece of cardboard and outline a flower vase. Add some details and let the kids color and decorate their vases. Poke multiple holes at the top to make a spot for them to stick their flowers. Go on a nature walk or a stroll around the neighborhood and have them collect all of the colored flowers (or weeds) to place in their vase.

DIY Flower Pencil Holder

Simple Flower Craft Ideas for SpringFor your older kids, this craft is super cute! I made this for my daughter a few years ago to hold her color pencils and she still uses it.

Supplies:

  • A small cup (this can be plastic or paper-an old kids cup will also work)
  • hot glue gun
  • Pack of colored spoons (ordered from Amazon)
  • Pom balls

Directions: Decide your color pattern/order and cut the handles off of the spoons leaving a small amount left for gluing to the cup. Start gluing your first layer of spoons all around your cup. Repeat the process with different colors and overlap. On the last row, glue the spoons in the opposite direction to make the appearance of leaves. Use the pom balls to cover up what is left of the cup by gluing to the bottom.
