The North Georgia Mountains are such a fun place to visit for a close girls’ weekend.
What better time to see the mountains than fall? There is so much for moms to do while we’re in town! For our trip, we decided to stay in a mountain house, shop in Dahlonega, take a wine tour, and then hit the spa for some relaxation.
We stayed in a friend’s house near Yonah Mountain but there are many places to rent where you can kick up your feet. Dahlonega, Helen, and Blue Ridge to name a few towns that have rentals for your perfect girls’ weekend. Pick a rental with a hot tub and a gorgeous mountain view for optimal relaxation.
Before embarking on our wine journey we toured the town of Dahlonega for some shopping. You could also plan to fill your belly with brunch in one of the cute restaurants in the town circle. The stores around Dahlonega offer a variety of items but our favorite was DressUp boutique. We all came out with purchases from DressUp! Don’t forget to stop in Giggle Monkey Toys for some souvenirs for your kiddos!
There are many options for wine tours in the mountains but we chose to check out the Dahlonega trail. So that we could all enjoy wine tasting, we hired a driver and chose our own path and time limit per vineyard. I really liked this option because most wine tours only give you a certain time per winery. This gave us a bit more freedom and we got to know our sweet driver who was an absolute joy. A few group/bus wine tours are also offered for the Dahlonega trails. Check out our comprehensive list of Georgia Wineries here to plan your tour!
Before heading out of town the next day we went to the most beautiful spa for massages and facials. Lucille’s Mountaintop Inn & Spa is the perfect place to wrap up a girls’ weekend. If you are looking for a place to stay Lucille’s would be such a relaxing and beautiful place to lay your head at night. The spa staff was terrific and the ambiance was truly relaxing.
