Immerse Yourself in Fun at Immersive Gamebox

As a mom of an 11-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl, I am always in search of fun experiences for staycations and birthday parties that aren’t “lame, bruh”. You know, experiences that “slay!”

Earlier this year, we were having a family Sunday Funday at the Avalon. We stumbled upon a new place called Immersive Gamebox and although we weren’t 100% sure what was in store, we are always up for trying something new. Immersive Gamebox was the perfect add to our Sunday Funday – it was interactive, great for our age range of 11 to 42, and added a lot of laughter to our afternoon out. I’m not a “gamer” but I schooled my son on some interactive Angry Birds action. We had so much fun that I promised them a future trip… with friends in tow.

And because I don’t break promises, during a recent day out of school each of my kids invited 3 friends to join them for an afternoon of immersive Tetris fun. With four girls in one room and four boys in another room, it was only natural that a competition broke out to see which team could get the highest score. These kids had the best afternoon bonding over Tetris challenges, and I have never laughed so hard watching them move the shapes around on the screen with their motions.

What did we love about Immersive Gamebox?

  1. The immersive experience! This isn’t your typical “gaming” spot. At Immersive Gamebox, you are on your feet and moving! Each room is equipped with projectors, lights, and a row of visors. These visors serve as your controllers, utilizing motion tracking technology. As you move around the room, you can interact with games projected on the walls.
  2. The games! I am a big fan of old-school games, so I LOVED introducing my kids to Tetris. This Tetris is next level though with various puzzles and challenges to take on. Some challenges are completed solo, while others require a bit (ok, a lot) of teamwork. Tetris is just one of the game choices though – from Paw Patrol for the younger crew to Squid Games for the teens. Whether your child is a budding explorer, a master puzzle-solver, or an aspiring superhero, there’s a game for every interest and age. Our family has decided that Ghostbusters is next on our list!
  3. The setup and the staff! The dedicated rooms (aka gameboxes) are perfect for your private group of friends. The staff helped us get up and running with our game of choice in no time. And if you get thirsty as you are playing, there are drinks onsite for you to order!

It’s time to party!

Immersive Gamebox is a next level place for a birthday party too! They have birthday packages that are perfect for partying in style, including 60 minutes of gameplay of your choice, a goodie bag for the birthday child and 1 soft drink per child. They have optional add-ons including a semi-private or private space to use during your hour of gameplay, an additional half-hour of gameplay, a table set up and styled with decorations, and 2 slices of cheese pizza per child.

The best part about having your party at Immersive Gamebox? Not only will the kids love it, but it also alleviates the daunting task of party planning and cleaning the aftermath! Leave the party planning to Immersive Gamebox and get ready to just have fun with your kids!

Whether you are looking for a fun Sunday Funday with the family, staycation ideas with friends, or an amazing birthday celebration, be sure to check out Immersive Gamebox and all it has to offer! Per my daughter, it will totally “slay”!

Jessica
Jessica is an adventure-loving, over-committing, and previously organized mother of 2! She and her husband (high school sweethearts) moved to Atlanta in 2006 after graduating college, ready to start their life in the “real world”. They have experienced so many wonderful life milestones while in Atlanta – lived in Buckhead pre-kids, bought a house in great Smyrna neighborhood, had their first child in 2011 (a spunky little girl, Vivian), welcomed their second child exactly 18 months later in 2012 (a creative and crazy little boy, Harrison), and most recently added a Golden Doodle named Winston into the mix. Jessica and her family have since moved to the burbs of Milton where you now find them past 2 horse farms on the right. Jessica has always loved being part of a community, so when the opportunity to join the Atlanta Mom executive team presented itself it was a no brainer! She loved it so much, in fact, that in 2021 she and Natalie joined forces to lead the team and continue connecting with awesome moms across the ATL!
