As winter fades, the Atlanta metro area warms up with festivals, concerts, and celebrations. From St. Patrick’s Day parades to food and music festivals, here’s your go-to guide for the best events this month!

March Family Friendly Events In and Around Atlanta
Now – March 15 – Pete the Cat, Center for Puppetry Arts. Based on the New York Times Best Seller series, this groovy puppet show features Pete the Cat’s most awesome adventures, inspired by some of the coolest books around. Recommended for ages 4 and up.
Now – March 15 – Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Fox Theatre. When Harry Potter’s headstrong son Albus, befriends the son of his fiercest rival, Draco Malfoy, it sparks an unbelievable new journey for them all—with the power to change the past and future forever. Prepare for a mind-blowing race through time, spectacular spells, and an epic battle, all brought to life with the most astonishing theatrical magic ever seen on stage.
March 1-2 – Atlanta Salsa and Bachata Festival, Courtland Grand Hotel. Enjoy world-class dancers, workshops, shows, and parties.
March 2, 9, 16, 23 – Yoga Presented by Kaiser Permanente, The Battery Atlanta, 6:30-7:30 pm. FREE yoga at the Battery is back on The Plaza Green. Don’t forget water and a mat! Pre-registration is required.
March 6 – Art Walk, Marietta Square, 5-9 pm. Experience the local art scene and dine at the restaurant you have been wanting to try. Good for a date night or for casually introducing your kids to local art and artists.
March 7-21 – Atlanta Science Festival includes 100+ events across Atlanta and one big party in Piedmont Park. Check out the Exploration Expo on March 21st, 10 am-4 pm, for hands-on science. The Atlanta Science Festival has activities and events for everyone, from elementary-aged kids through adults.
March 7 – Belles of the Ball: Georgia’s Largest Free Prom Dress Giveaway, Atlantic Station, 10 am – 4 pm. Their mission is to ensure that every high school student can attend prom, regardless of their socioeconomic background. We have the ultimate prom dress shopping experience free of charge. This includes your own personal consultant, a DJ, photobooth, and more! This event is open to the public, but registration is highly suggested.
March 7 – Georgia Aquarium 5K Walk/Run, Pemberton Place, 8-11 am. This Peachtree Qualifier 3.1-mile course takes participants on a quick “out and back” journey through some of downtown Atlanta’s most iconic landmarks. Open to ages 8 and up, it’s perfect for runners, joggers, and walkers of all levels.
March 7 – Extinction Party, Fernbank, 10 am – 1 pm. Celebrate the final weeks of A Walk Through Time in Georgia before we begin construction on Changing Earth—part of Fernbank’s 2025-27 transformation. Enjoy a scavenger hunt, fun activities, giveaways, and special pricing themed to Fernbank’s opening in 1992.
March 8 – UPS Second Sunday, High Museum of Art, 12-5 pm. FREE admission for all visitors.
March 13 and 27 – Evening Sky Watch, Tellus Observatory, 8-11 pm. Come visit our Observatory for a rare look through our telescope, where we will be showing some of our favorite celestial objects in the evening sky. Suitable for all ages, advanced registration required.
March 14 – Atlanta St. Patrick’s Parade, Midtown Atlanta, 12-1:30 pm. Come out and enjoy one of the country’s oldest St. Patrick’s Day parades! The 11th Annual St. Patrick’s Parade 5K kicks off at 9:45 am ahead of the parade.
March 14 – Educator Appreciation Day at Zoo Atlanta, 9 am – 3 pm. Educators enjoy free admission and discounts for accompanying guests. See website for details.
March 14 – Biomechanics Day: Animals in Motion, Zoo Atlanta, 10 am – 2 pm. This event will feature representatives from the Georgia Institute of Technology and other universities, sharing their work on biomechanics and Bio-inspired Design with Zoo Atlanta Members and guests through live demonstrations and presentations sure to engage budding scientists of all ages!
March 21 – Hawks Fast Break 5K, State Farm Arena, 8 am. Join Harry the Hawk, the ATL Dancers, the Flight Crew, and Pete the Peach as you make your way around State Farm Arena at the 2026 Hawks Fast Break 5K presented by Sharecare.
March 21 – Shamrock Shuffle, Marietta Square, 8 am. Winding through Marietta, the Shamrock Shuffle supports the Marietta Police Athletic League’s youth programs.
March 26 – Screen on the Green, Atlantic Station, 7 pm. Celebrate the end of Women’s History Month with a screening of Barbie… where every woman gets to shine in their own style, with a sprinkle of pink.
March 27 – Atlanta Braves Home Opener, Truist Park, 7:15 pm. Join us as the Atlanta Braves face off against the Kansas City Royals at Truist Park!
March 27 – Garden Party, Atlanta Botanical Garden, 6-9:30 pm. Enjoy cocktails, live music, and more surrounded by the Garden’s signature displays of spring blooms at this exclusive annual event.
March 27-29 – Atlanta Food + Wine Festival, Marietta. Celebrate the best of Georgia and the South with culinary superstars and beverage experts, farmers, local artisans, and live musicians! Sunday Funday wraps up the weekend with a relaxed, family-friendly experience featuring artisan shopping, live entertainment, and a free kids’ zone.
March 28-29 – Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival and 5K. Run the 5K benefiting Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and enjoy two days of FREE music.
