Atlanta is known as the “city in the forest,” and there’s no place that contributes more to that moniker than Piedmont Park. We are so lucky to have this family-friendly urban oasis in the heart of our city. It’s a year-round venue of beloved festivals, countless races, and concerts. But outside of the big events, it’s always a reliable destination for fun.

Whether you’re a frequent neighborhood visitor or visiting from OTP, here’s a quick guide to all that our very own Central Park has to offer.

  • Activities galore, including:
    • Two large playgrounds are great for littles all the way up to pre-teens
    • Lake Clara Meer for a scenic stroll with a perfect skyline photo opp, duck visit, or fishing.
    • A public Splash pad located within a quieter section of the park close to parking, restrooms, and tables.
    • Newly renovated pool with membership and public access. Public admission is as low as $5 per person.
    • Tennis and pickleball courts, soccer fields, and a track.
    • The Piedmont Park Conservancy keeps an up-to-date calendar of all the latest community happenings, from yoga classes to art workshops.
  • The Green Market, every Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm, usually runs from March to December. Stop by for the best farmers market fare and grab goodies from the awesome local vendors like the Daily Chew and Patchwork City Farms
  • Fun dining in the park and nearby:
    • Henri’s just opened their latest cafe right by the playground and aquatic center. It’s the perfect spot for sandwiches and coffee for your picnics and walks.
    • Kathy’s Courtside Cafe by the tennis courts offers quick snacks, beverages, and the cutest tennis and pickleball accessories.
    • Family-friendly patio dining at Willy’s and Shake Shack at the 12th St entrance and classic Park Tavern at the 10th St entrance.
    • Fuel up your park adventure with coffee from Stroll or Larakin.
    • Just outside the park, you can also find longtime Atlanta favorites- The Nook on Piedmont and MetroFresh, and Woody’s off of Monroe.
    • King of Pops’ rainbow umbrella can usually be spotted on any park visit.
  • Walkable access to some of the best midtown attractions, including the Eastside Beltline, Botanical Gardens, and Colony Square, can help you make a full-day adventure from the park.
  • And one of the best parts of a day in the park is the ability to bring your fur babies too. The Piedmont Park dog park offers 3 acres of off-leash access with separate areas for small and large pups.

Take this as your sign to plan your next Piedmont Park adventure day! And make sure to share your favorite Piedmont Park events and activities in the comments.
