Produce for Kids – Eating Healthy for the Win!

Apples are “all the rage” for fall, so this post is bringing you easy, delicious, and kid-friendly apple recipes from our partners, Produce for Kids. Read on for how you can both feed your family AND feed your community by shopping specific brands at Publix from now until October 23rd.

An Apple A Day!

It’s officially fall and, as of this last weekend, it finally feels like fall! For our family, this time of year is all about festivals, pumpkin carving, and all things apples! Apple cider, apple and pecan salads, caramel apples, and today’s focus: apple snacks.

Here’s my current situation – the kids just got off the bus and we have tennis lessons starting in 45 minutes, so I have put them to work preparing their own snack (while I find the tennis rackets and shoes!).  It’s a super easy and healthy snack that will keep them energized until dinner tonight.

Their snacks were prepped in about 10 minutes and consumed in even less time! If you are in need of healthy recipes, be sure to visit – they have great, family-friendly recipes including Mini Wanton Taco Cups and Fruity Bagel Pizzas.

Eat Healthy AND Give Back!

Now, how does eating healthy also help to make a difference in your local community? Shop the produce department of your local Publix between now and October 23rd and look for the Produce for Kids signage on the following brands.  When these popular brands are purchased, Produce for Kids will give back to local Feeding America® food banks!  It’s a simple, easy, and healthy way to give back to families in need leading up to this holiday season.

Jessica is an adventure-loving, over-committing, and previously organized mother of 2! She and her husband (high school sweethearts) moved to Atlanta in 2006 after graduating college, ready to start their life in the “real world”. They have experienced so many wonderful life milestones while in Atlanta – lived in Buckhead pre-kids, bought a house in great Smyrna neighborhood, had their first child in 2011 (a spunky little girl, Vivian), welcomed their second child exactly 18 months later in 2012 (a creative and crazy little boy, Harrison), and most recently added a Golden Doodle named Winston into the mix. Jessica and her family have since moved to the burbs of Milton where you now find them past 2 horse farms on the right. Jessica has always loved being part of a community, so when the opportunity to join the Atlanta Mom executive team presented itself it was a no brainer! She loved it so much, in fact, that in 2021 she and Natalie joined forces to lead the team and continue connecting with awesome moms across the ATL!
