Bloom: An Event for New and Expecting Moms {Event Recap}

Our first event for new and expecting moms in Atlanta was a blast! We cannot thank our wonderful partners who made it possible. We had over 30 mamas in attendance at Bloom – as well as a few tiny babies. Our team is still talking about the fun afternoon and the connections made with moms as they enter this amazing chapter called motherhood. Whether it was a first-time mom or a fourth-time mom, there was a little something for everyone! A special thanks to Create a Shirt for our custom Bloom day t-shirts!

The Presenting Sponsor and Venue

Special thanks to Vital Life Health Center, a Life University Chiropractic and functional neurology Center for Health and Optimum Performance, for hosting Bloom! VLHC is a vitalistic wellness center that focuses on the nervous system and is devoted to caring for people from birth to 101. It was a great opportunity to introduce and educate moms to the concept of chiropractic care for pre/post natal, as well as for their newborns.

Table Sponsors

The room was buzzing all afternoon! It was energizing to watch moms connect with the businesses and products we love! Attendees received expert guidance from Moms on Call, workout tips from OhBaby! Fitness, studied the art of baby food making from Glass House Kitchen, learned (and toured) the new Atlanta Birth Center. But that’s not all! They connected with Emerge Birth Services, who provide wonderful support classes (and doula services) for before and after baby arrives, as well as opportunities from Emory Child Study Center. Moms had an opportunity to write a “Dear Mom” note at The Sitter Tree table. Attendees munched on goodies at our Cravings bar, sponsored by The Fresh Market. Sweet treats were provided by Gluten Free Cutie. Burn Boot Camp – Roswell made sure all of our mamas stayed hydrated at our hydration station as well.

Panel Discussion

We had a great conversation with Laura Hunter (Moms on Call co-founder), Anjli Hinman, Executive Director and Midwife from Atlanta Birth CenterDr Darria Long Gillespie, Dr. Cooper from Vital Life Health Center, Megan Brown founder of Emerge Birth Service and Dr. Wendell Hackney, OB/GYN at WellStar’s Atlanta Medical Center. Thank you for sharing your expertise.

In addition, we partnered with Helping Mamas and encouraged all attendees to bring one package of diapers or wipes to distribute to mamas in need in and around metro-Atlanta. We are so grateful for those donations made at Bloom! Helping Mamas is a nonprofit whose mission is connecting helping mamas to mamas need help. They are the baby supply bank of metro Atlanta. Helping Mamas collects and distributes essential baby items to organizations that serve women and children in need. 1 in 3 moms has had to choose between diapers and food. Helping Mamas is making sure no mom has to make the decision again.
