Throw a Hocus Pocus 2 Watch Party

Throw a Hocus Pocus 2 Watch Party!Welcome my fellow Hocus Pocus fans!

The time has finally come when we find out what happens in the next chapter of our favorite youth-seeking witches. Winnie, Mary, and Sarah Sanderson return in Hocus Pocus 2 streaming on Disney+ starting September 30th. The pop culture phenomenon has always been a favorite for me growing up. My Halloween is not complete without at least one full run-through of Hocus Pocus. Whether you are watching with your kids or gathering your favorite witchy friends to cozy up this Fall with a Hocus Pocus double feature, we have you covered!

  • Set the Scene -Many of us have already started to decorate for fall, but to those who haven’t, take this as your opportunity to be extra. Bring in spooky decorations to set your watch party theme. Decorations that you already have can work or you can check out some of your local shopping for a little revamp of your collection. A themed tablescape can be a great way to set the mood for your watch party. Make banners with quotes from the movie, use twinkle lights to set the tone, bring out some black cat decor, or try out these DIY floating witch hats over the table. Possibilities are endless and Pinterest is a great place to get ideas.
  • Hocus Pocus t-shirtDress the Part – If you’re a big Hocus Pocus fan like me you already have a couple of themed shirts! Make it a cozy watch party with a themed tee or challenge your guests with a Hocus Pocus-themed costume party! Come on, you know all of us wanted to be Sarah Sanderson at some point.
  • Theme the Foods – Theming foods help set the mood. You can take basic party foods and name them after objects in the movie. Wrap lil’ smokies in crescent dough to make “dead mans toes,” make broomsticks out of Reese’s peanut butter cups and pretzels, or you can go big and make a huge hocus pocus-inspired charcuterie board! Don’t forget the popcorn! For dessert, try these wonderfully spooky Witch Hat Cookies, or if you want to go super creepy, try out these Witch Finger Cookies (or maybe more properly named “Billy Butcherson fingers” for your party). You can always leave out the jelly for more squeamish guests and kids.

  • Serve Witchy Drinks – Everyone loves a good witch’s brew! Check out this kid-friendly Hocus Pocus punch or for a fun night with girlfriends check out this Hallowine Sangria, add food-grade dry ice to any drink to make it spooky. Don’t forget to serve the “burning rain of death” (water).

How will you be celebrating the release of Hocus Pocus 2?
