Mama’s Time Out

Mamas Time Out - Cheers

Mama’s Time Out

For a toddler, the words “time out” have a pretty bad connotation. However, at Atlanta Mom, we decided that “time out” could be used as a positive reset for moms that are in a very busy season! We recently held a Mama’s Time Out event as a time to step away from our day-to-day responsibilities and breath, stretch, and reconnect as a group. And it turns out that’s just what we each needed!

Yoga with Carolena from Pure Heart Yogi

Mamas Time Out - Yoga

We kicked off our Mama’s Time Out with a yoga class lead by Carolena. With various experience levels (some regular yogis, others a bit newer), Carolena made sure the class was approachable to all. We took deep breaths, we stretched out our stress, we worked a little, and we ended the class with self-massages and my favorite… savasana (surprisingly no one fell asleep… mamas never stop…).

Carolena is so positive and calm, you can’t help but to leave the class feeling a little more centered and present. She offers private yoga sessions, group classes, virtual sessions, and even 1-on-1 coaching. I highly recommend checking out her services!

Yoga and regular breathing exercises can decrease stress and anxiety which will lead to a happier Mama!

Cocktails with Ripe Bar Juice

Mamas Time Out - Ripe

After yoga, we spent some time catching up over cocktails. The cocktails were delicious and so easy to make, with Ripe Bar Juice. We taste tested the Classic Cosmopolitan, the Moscow Mule, the Cranberry Margarita, the Classic Margarita, and a delicious Ripe Colada. Full recipes can be found here on their website.

All of the @ripebarjuice product is made with fresh, natural, cold-pressed juices. You can order RIPE for home delivery or find it at many locations in retailers throughout the Atlanta area. Check out their website to find out where you can purchase RIPE product!

Event Location at The Lola

Location, location, location. It’s an important part of any event and The Lola did not disappoint. Conveniently located near Ponce City Market, the space is absolutely beautiful and designed specifically for women to reconnect! We reserved a beautiful room for yoga and took over their common kitchen space for cocktails. Their staff was friendly, accommodating, and very supportive.

The Lola is not only a coworking space, but also a community. It’s a place to focus, to reconnect, to mentor, and to network with like-minded driven females. If your 2023 goals find you looking for a community and possibly a space to focus and achieve your goals, I highly recommend heading to The Lola to see what it’s all about!

Of course, the most important part of any team event, is the team itself. Atlanta Mom works hard to provide content that is relevant for your family. We hope you enjoy our site – here is a picture of just a small portion of our team that work together to make it happen!

Jessica
Jessica is an adventure-loving, over-committing, and previously organized mother of 2! She and her husband (high school sweethearts) moved to Atlanta in 2006 after graduating college, ready to start their life in the “real world”. They have experienced so many wonderful life milestones while in Atlanta – lived in Buckhead pre-kids, bought a house in great Smyrna neighborhood, had their first child in 2011 (a spunky little girl, Vivian), welcomed their second child exactly 18 months later in 2012 (a creative and crazy little boy, Harrison), and most recently added a Golden Doodle named Winston into the mix. Jessica and her family have since moved to the burbs of Milton where you now find them past 2 horse farms on the right. Jessica has always loved being part of a community, so when the opportunity to join the Atlanta Mom executive team presented itself it was a no brainer! She loved it so much, in fact, that in 2021 she and Natalie joined forces to lead the team and continue connecting with awesome moms across the ATL!
