Free Summer Fitness Classes In and Around Atlanta

I am a mom who works out for my physical and mental health. I have tried a variety of free online classes, but sometimes you want to get out of the house and try something new, somewhere new. Did you know multiple locations around Atlanta offer FREE fitness classes?! One of my 1st FREE classes was at Athleta in Atlantic Station and now I am a regular at The Battery for Monday Night Yoga. Have you tried a fitness session at the Home Depot Backyard or dropped in for Yoga on the Beltline?

Check out a few FREE fitness opportunities in and around Atlanta this Summer.

Yoga at the Battery, Atlanta 

Monday, June 3, 10, 24 /July 8, 15, 29 / Aug 5, 12, 19, and 26; 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

This FREE Yoga class meets on select Monday evenings at 6:30 p.m.* on The Plaza Green.

Pre-registration is required. Please register on Eventbrite, accept the event participant waiver included in registration, and be prepared to scan your ticket(s) upon arrival. Drop-ins will only be accepted if space restrictions allow and registration is completed. Children can attend when accompanied by a parent or guardian.


Pure Barre Pop-Up at the Battery, Atlanta 

Days vary, May 23, June 4, and 13; 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

This FREE Barre class meets on select evenings at 6:30 p.m.* on The Plaza Green.

Pre-registration is required. Parking is free for the first 2-hours, make a FUN evening out of it with your barre besties—one ticket per person. If registering for a minor, please include a parent or guardian name in the required field. 


Be Well Health + Wellness at The Home Depot Backyard, Atlanta

Dates, times, and locations vary.

Starting May 6th, Atlanta’s Best Backyard is celebrating another year of FREE community programming. There Be Well Health + Wellness programming includes sessions for the whole family. Youth Fitness, Senior Fitness, Dance Fitness, and Hip Hop Yoga, offer something for everyone and all fitness levels. Be sure to register ahead of time so you don’t miss out!


Fitness on The Beltline, Atlanta

The Beltline has a variety of free fitness programs for you and your kiddos this Summer. All summer, you can find FREE yoga, biking tours, and fitness classes for you and the fam. The Beltline is a beautiful spot for fun and fitness.


Wellness Wednesdays at Atlantic Station, Atlanta

Wednesday, May 1 – July 31; 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Grab your workout buddy and get ready to enjoy FREE outdoor wellness classes each week. This season will offer a variety of workouts from relaxing yoga to intense boot camps, dance fitness, and self-defense.


Yoga on the Square, Colony Square, Atlanta

Wednesdays, 6-7 p.m.

Are you looking for a FREE Yoga option in Midtown? Bring your practice to the Plaza. Bring your mat, no reservation is required, and they do offer parking validation. Join the “Yoga on the Square” loyalty program and receive a free swag item after 5 visits + be entered to win a chance to experience Yoga In The Sky on their helipad. 


Free Yoga Classes on Broad Street Boardwalk, Atlanta

Saturdays, May 4 – August 31, 10 – 11 a.m.

Visit Broad Street Boardwalk for 60 minutes of all-level vinyasa flow each Saturday at 10:00 AM! Yoga classes are open to the public and FREE to attend with an RSVP. Bring Your Mat and water.


AvalOM at Avalon, Alpharetta 

Wednesdays, May 1 – August 28, 6-7 p.m.

AvalOM at Avalon offers special yoga, barre, or pilates classes presented by various studios and instructors! Receive a virtual stamp at each class. Attend 5 classes to complete your loyalty card + redeem it for an AvalOM swag item.


Town Green Fitness, Alpharetta 

Tuesdays, May 7 – June 25, 6-7 p.m.

Head to Town Green Alpharetta every Tuesday evening for FREE fitness on the Green! Offerings include Barre, Bootcamp, Zumba, and other fitness classes. 


Yoga on the Green, Peachtree Corners

Tuesdays, June 4 – September 24; 8 a.m. 

Everyone from beginners to experienced yogis are welcome to this FREE class taught by some of the amazing instructors from Sunny Street Yoga. Sunny Street’s motto is “Fusing Flow and Wellness.” Bring your own mat.


Wellstar Family Series: Tennis on the Turf, Atlanta

Tuesdays, June 4, 11, and 18; 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. 

USTA’s Tennis on the Turf will be on site with three mini tennis nets for free play, tennis lessons and games, led by two professional tennis instructors. They host 4, 30 minute sessions per date. Recommended for ages 4-10, and children will be further divided by age groups. Parents are not required but encouraged to play too!

We participated last year and it was a great introduction to tennis for my 6-year-old.


4-H Yoga For Kids Program, Cobb County Libraries

Days, times, and locations vary, June 3 – 12 

This summer’s 4-H Yoga for Kids program is going to be an ADVENTURE in Yoga with Cobb County Libraries! 4-H Yoga for Kids promotes strength, muscle stamina, structural alignment, and flexibility, and calms the nervous system. Bring your own yoga mat or beach towel and a bottle of water.

Intended for elementary school children and caregivers. This is not a drop-off program. Caregivers must be present during the program. Caregivers are welcome to join in! Registration is required! Visit cobbcounty.org and search 4-H yoga to register for a session.
