I first began listening to podcasts in 2014. Back then, when I would excitedly bring up the podcast Serial, folks would look at me with confusion. They actually thought I was speaking about the breakfast item! Since then, the podcast world has evolved to include countless genres and types. It seems like there is something for everyone. With summer travel on the horizon for many families, these podcasts will entertain everyone in your family at some point on your trip.

Education for KidsBrain On! Science Podcast for Kids  Brains On! is an award-winning science podcast for kids and curious adults. Each week, a different kid co-host joins Molly Bloom to find answers to fascinating questions about the world.

EntrepreneurshipSide Hustle Pro Host Nicaila Okome leads the first and only podcast to spotlight bold, Black women entrepreneurs who have scaled from side hustle to profitable business. Before taking the leap of faith to become a business owner, this podcast motivated and inspired me.

FinanceI Will Teach You to Be Rich Author, finance guru, and star of the Netflix series How to Get Rich, Ramit Sethi, hosts a podcast in which he speaks with couples from all walks of life as they navigate financial stress. This podcast includes real stories of love and money from behind closed doors.

I first discovered this podcast because of the Netflix series. When I began listening, I searched through the over 100 episodes to listen to the one most relatable to me.

ParentingCradle and All Sisters and hosts sisters Renita White and Christine Baines experienced pregnancy together (twice!) and talk about the real deal of balancing motherhood, relationships, and wellness while raising little ones. They speak from their perspectives as mothers, entrepreneurs, and a physician and educator.

My sister and I have a ball recording this podcast. It was born out of a desire to inform moms and create a community so women know that there not alone in their motherhood journey.

Performing ArtsLevar Burton Reads In every episode, host LeVar Burton of Roots, Reading Rainbow, and Star Trek, invites you to take a break from your daily life, and dive into a great story. LeVar’s narration blends with gorgeous soundscapes to bring stories to life.

This is my absolute favorite podcast to fall asleep to. The stories are interesting and the immersive listening experience makes it sound like your listening to a movie.

True CrimeCriminal Criminal is an award-winning podcast hosted by the award-winning reporter Phoebe Judge. Criminal tells stories of people who’ve done wrong, been wronged, or gotten caught somewhere in the middle.

Any podcast list would be complete without a true crime podcast. This one is different because the crimes included are odd, unique, and spans history.

True Crime: Something Was Wrong is an Iris Award-winning true-crime docuseries about the discovery, trauma, and recovery from shocking life events and abusive relationships.

This podcast came on my radar because so many people were talking about it. Once I started listening, I understood why. Season 9 is insane.
