Celebrate Parental Love to Bond: Age Group 6-10

The ages 6-10 are when our children’s personalities and interests begin to blossom. Identifying their interests and celebrating them is the perfect opportunity to bond.

  • The Adventurous Child
    • Scavenger Hunt- Strategically place love notes and Valentine-themed items around the home or park. Add a layer of mystery by creating a puzzle, similar to a clue for intrigue.
    • Day Camping- I’m not much of an outdoor camper, but my daughter and I love creating indoor tents while we watch a movie. We drink hot chocolate and make s’mores.
  • The Creative and Sentimental Child
    • Baking Sweet Desserts- baking heart-shaped desserts and Valentine’s Day-themed cupcakes. Allow them to express their creativity by decorating the desserts.
    • Love Poems- Roses are Red and Violets are blue. Let’s create something new cause I love you. Writing fun rhymes with one another is a sure way to bring laughter and joy to your little one. Framing the poems in family areas of the home is the perfect reminder!

Reaffirming Growth and Maturity: Age Group 11-15

The Pre-Teen and Early Teens Years. Parents that are at this stage, how are you holding up? LoL, These are the years when the sense of independence and character emerges. Sometimes communication to express love and care becomes a tad strenuous at times.

  • Mom+Child Date- A Painting or Pottery class will foster a carefree environment to talk freely while trying a new activity.
  • Watching from a Distance- treat your child and a couple of their close friends to an activity of their choice. Andretti’s is a fantastic location to allow your preteen to enjoy themselves with friends while keeping a watchful eye.

Trust and Guidance: Age Group 16-18

  • Life Lessons and the Future- Guidance, compassion, patience, and unwavering support are just some of the components of a mother’s love. Sharing life lessons and creating Vision Boards are beautiful extensions of love.
  • Love, Light, and Leisure- Have fun by attending a concert or choosing activities that celebrate their individuality.

Use these activities as a guide to bond and share love with your kiddos! And be sure to check out other posts like this on Atlanta Mom.
