We’re more than halfway through 2025, summer is almost officially over, school is back in session, and fall will be here before we know it. One of the things my family and I have been doing is having a family movie night every weekend. We’ve watched a bunch of our favorites as well as some recently released movies. This had me thinking about the months ahead and which new movies will be released soon.
I thought it’d be fun to share some upcoming movies that will be released in the remaining months of 2025.

Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie is a live-action film based on the series, Gabby’s Dollhouse. The film follows Gabby and her grandmother, Gigi, as they travel to a world called Cat Francisco. Gabby shrinks to the size of a dollhouse toy to get her dollhouse back from Vera. With help from the Gabby cats, will Gabby be able to retrieve her dollhouse?

The Twits is an animated musical comedy film based on Roald Dahl’s children’s novel of the same name. The film follows two orphans and magical animals who band together to stop a couple, Mr. and Mrs. Twit, the mean owners of a dangerous amusement park.

Pets on a Train is an animated film about a group of pets trapped on a high-speed train during a train heist. Falcon and Rex team up to stop Hans, a badger who is the mastermind behind the train heist.

In Your Dreams is an animated film that follows a girl named Stevie and her brother, Elliot, as they travel to the world of their dreams. They want to meet the Sandman so they can ask him to make their family perfect.

Wicked: For Good is the sequel to Wicked. The film follows Elphaba, who is now a fugitive and known as the Wicked Witch of the West, as she fights for animal rights while on the run. Glinda, who is now known as Glinda the Good, stayed behind in Oz at the end of the first film. The film centers on Elphaba and Glinda’s relationship, which is tested by several events, such as Dorothy’s arrival in Oz.

Zootopia 2 follows Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde as they team up to solve a new case, which could affect their partnership. Since the first film was released in 2016, it would be fun to rewatch the first film before watching the sequel.
The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants

The latest SpongeBob movie follows SpongeBob as he tries to prove his bravery to Mr. Krabs by traveling to the deepest part of the ocean, the Underworld, to face the Flying Dutchman’s ghost.
