Metro-Atlanta has so many amazing places to discover with your kids- museums, theaters, parks, gardens- there is something for everyone! But those family adventures can get expensive! Over the years, we have made the most of our money by investing in family memberships. I’ve learned that my kids actually prefer going to the same place over and over again. The familiarity is comforting for them and it allows us to really dig into places and experience more of what they have to offer. Here are four family memberships my family has ACTUALLY had…and LOVED!
Four Atlanta Family Activity Memberships to Check Out
The Children’s Museum of Atlanta
This was our first family membership. When my kids were toddlers and preschoolers, the Children’s Museum was their favorite. They loved the painting wall, the giant ball machine, the Fundamentally Food Exhibit- all of it! My oldest first found her love of acting by volunteering for a CM skit. Everything is interactive and kid-friendly, it’s like a giant playground.
The High in Midtown is not only a world-class art museum, but it also offers tons of activities for kids. As a homeschool family, we take advantage of their Homeschool Days on a regular basis, which includes a museum scavenger hunt and art projects for kids. Older kids will love using the Audio Tours, which are discounted for members. And they have also had some fantastic Children’s Author exhibits!
This is another spot you might not think about for kids- but we loved it! The gardens are beautiful and the outdoor displays change with the seasons. My kids loved the animals on display in the Fuqua Conservatory. The Children’s Garden has been recently renovated and looks amazing. The splash fountain in the summer is tons of fun! This is another membership that can also bring the gift of fantastic date nights.
This will be the third year we’ve been CNC members and we renew each fall for so many reasons. We start with the Discovery Center inside. My kids LOVE the Nature Exchange, where they bring objects from nature and earn points to spend on things like cool shells and shiny quartz. There is also usually a fun scavenger hunt of some sort. Once they finish inside, we head out to the trails or to see the wildlife. I love the fact that you can bring a picnic. They also have great special programs throughout the year- we absolutely love the Homeschool Science Mondays!
We absolutely love Chattahoochee Nature Center and the Children’s Museum. CNC is such a great place to spend time with my little one – and I love that it’s practically in my back yard. It’s so easy to get to!
Great reviews – thanks! You’re so right, we often take kids everywhere once, when the younger ones especially get more out of.visiting the same places a few rimes. These memberships would make good gifts from grandparents, too!

Thanks for the review AtlantaCityMoms! We appreciate your special call out! Nature is our passion and science is our ‘thing’ at the Chattahoochee Nature Center! Lynn McIntyre
