February 1-28, 2023 – Black History Month, Children’s Museum of Atlanta
The Museum is highlighting some of the Black inventors, scientists, and artists that have made an impact on the world.

February 3 – Art Walk, Marietta Square, 5-9 p.m. Experience the local art scene and dine at the restaurant you have been wanting to try. Good for a date night or a way to casually introduce your kids to local art and artist.

February 3 – Chattahoochee Food Works, Major League Sports: Meet the Rugby ATL Team, 6 p.m. Meet the team, take photos, and participate in giveaways.

February 4Ice Cream for Breakfast Day, Jeni’s at The Battery 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Try the limited edition Jeni’s flavor “Maple Soaked Pancakes”.

February 4 – Summer Expo, Town Center at Cobb, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Find out about summer camps, summer activities, fun events, and volunteer opportunities at the Town Center at Cobb Summer Expo on February 4!

February 5 – Caffeine & Octane, Town Center at Cobb, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., Grab your favorite car lover and check out a variety of new and classic cars.

February 11 – Atlanta Black Expo, Cobb Galleria, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m., Learn more about Black-owned companies: caterers/bakers, insurance, hair stylist, therapist, business coach, realtors, artists, handymen, moving companies, etc. all in one place!

February 12 – UPS Second Sunday, High Museum of Art, 12-5 p.m., FREE admission for all visitors.

February 12, 15, and 22Black History Month Movie Series, Atlantic Station, 7 p.m. Free movies at Atlantic Station Green: Cinderella, The Great Debaters, and 42.

February 18 – September 17 – Trolls: Save the Humans, Atlanta Botanical Gardens, World Premiere kicks off February 18. An exhibition featuring six of the artist’s enormous folklore-inspired sculptures built from reclaimed material.

February 18 – Mardi Gras on The Roof (All Ages), Ponce City Market-The Roof, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., Experience the French Quarter on The Roof of PCM. The Daytime event is family-friendly and includes full access to The ROOF, unlimited gameplay, rides at Skyline Park, and the Mardi Gras entertainment! This is a ticketed event.

February 18 –The Westside Food, Booze & Brews Fest, The Chattahoochee Food Works, 12-6 p.m. Have you visited The Chattahoochee Food Works? The food & brews fest will give you the chance to sample some of the Westside’s tastiest foods and drinks. Kids are free and welcome but must be accompanied by a 21+ adult.

February 21Mardi Gras at Avalon, Avalon, 5-9 p.m. Gather the whole family and experience Mardi Gras at Avalon.

February 25African American History Month Celebration, Southern Museum, 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
The Southern Museum is hosting an African American History Month Celebration! Featuring special gallery tours focusing on African Americans

February 27Yoga Presented by Kaiser Permanente, The Battery at Truist Park,  6:30-7:30 pm. FREE yoga at the battery is back! This is the 1st session of the 2023 season.

Larissa Brown
Larissa is a mom to 1 inquisitive and empathetic six-year-old and wife to a smart and funny Georgia Tech grad.  Her parents were born and raised in Atlanta, her mom is from Peoplestown and her dad is from Kirkwood. Larissa is a former Army brat and when her dad retired, they settled back in Georgia. She earned degrees from The University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) and Georgia State University. She worked and played in the Atlanta area until she moved to the burbs with her husband. They got the house with a yard, a dog named Gus, and started raising their kiddo.  She is a work-from-home mom with a background in health education and wellbeing. She is a Cobb County mom with Atlanta roots. You can find her at an outdoor yoga class with her sister or at a local food or wine festival with friends. Larissa loves college football, festivals, fitness, travel, and creating memories with her family.
